What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interventional Pulmonary and Critical Care Opportunity– Scranton, PA | $60K Start Bonus + Full Benefits position at Geisinger?
Key Responsibilities:
- Support growth of bronchoscopy program
- A typical month to promote work/life balance consists of no more than 2 weeks of inpatient service (1 week ICU, 1 week consults) and 1 weekend
- The remainder of the time is shared between PTO/CME, procedural time and outpatient clinic
- Typical clinic day consists of 6 hours of patient contact time and 2 hours of administrative discretionary time
- Provide state-of-the-art care for a broad range of conditions including lung cancer, opportunistic infections, pleural disease and drug induced lung diseases, COPD, asthma, lung cancer and pulmonary hypertension
- Access to lung nodule program, home ventilation program, and pulmonary hypertension, advanced sarcoid clinic, interstitial lung disease and exceptional Sleep Medicine program
Procedures & Teaching Opportunities:
- Perform scheduled procedures: radial and linear EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction (BLVR), bronchial valves, ION robotic bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, endobronchial biopsies, plus further advanced procedures program development
- Be an instrumental part of teaching with Geisinger’s Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship in the Northeast hosting four fellows/year plus Sleep Medicine fellows, Internal Medicine residents and Geisinger medical students
- Participate in scholarly activities, committees and research as well as interdisciplinary programs with Tumor Board (Thoracic Surgery and Oncology) at both cancer centers
- Opportunity to present and participate in weekly case conferences, journal clubs, fellow and resident didactics and pathology conferences
- Receive both clinical and academic titles upon start at Geisinger College of Health Sciences
- Opportunities for career development including Geisinger supported MBA, leadership certifications (partners in leadership and E. Allen Dever Program) and education certification (Health System Science) and quality leadership certification
- Opportunity for faculty to participate in mentored grant funded research
