Geiger & Peters is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our structural steel fabrication operations. In this role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems to help ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional with experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems who enjoys problem-solving and working in a hands-on industrial environment.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, conveyors, cranes, saws, and fabrication machinery.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on industrial equipment, including motors, VFDs, sensors, and control systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
- Document maintenance work and communicate equipment issues with supervisors and production personnel.
- Help maintain a safe, reliable, and productive manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Industrial maintenance training, technical education, apprenticeship, or related experience.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred
- Manufacturing, structural steel, heavy industrial, or fabrication experience.
- Experience with 480V electrical systems.
- PLC, sensor, and controls troubleshooting experience.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Overhead crane maintenance experience.
- Experience with CMMS or maintenance management software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform hands-on maintenance work throughout the day.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work around industrial equipment, elevated platforms, and varying environmental conditions.
