Job Description

Department: Dye House

Position: Dye House Machine Operator (2nd Shift) Hours 3:00pm to 11:00pm

Base Salary $16.50 plus additional $1.00 Shift Differential

Paid Vacation and Pay Rate Review after 90 day Probationary Period

Job Summary:

To operate and tend to machine to wash, dye, and finish textiles; To follow safety guidelines and procedures; To adhere to all Gehring safety procedures; To be available for other tasks.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred
Good reading required
Good attention to detail; Good organizational skills
Good communication skills
Professional manner and appearance
Good judgment with independent decision-making skills within Gehring procedures

Requirements:

Ability to work alone and within a team
Ability to sit, stand, walk for lengths of time; Ability to climb stairs
Ability to lift, push, pull, move 100 lbs sporadically throughout shift
Ability to operate electric pallet jack
Ability to use sewing machine
Ability to perform tasks as a moderate pace
Ability to creatively solve problems quickly and independently within Gehring procedures
Ability to work around loud machines, wet floors, steamy environment

Responsibilities:

Operate up to seven jet machines alongside another operator
Load, run procedures, unload jet according to procedures
Accurately weigh chemicals for machines
Observe and report defects in production immediately to supervisor
Maintain safe work environment and practices
Comply with all safety regulations
Be available to assist with other tasks
Keep work areas clean and clear

Daily Tasks:
