Activities/Therapeutic Recreation Assistant
Geer Village Senior Community is a non-profit organization and a community of seniors that live and receive care on our campus. Our residents, caregivers, families, staff, neighbors, volunteers and friends rely on us to provide the highest quality of care every single day.
We are looking for an energetic, self starter who will be responsible for enriching our residents’ lives on our dementia unit at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center by providing high quality activities. Some of your other tasks include but are not limited to:
- Helping to create the Recreation Calendar and assuring that the plans are carried out.
- Provides daily activity bulletins which include day, date, weather, activities and programs to be conducted, and their location and time.
- Assists with the preparation of programs including room set up and coordinating with other staff, if needed.
- Assists residents to daily activities and on community outings.
Experience with the senior community and understanding of dementia care principles and ability to adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with cognitive impairments a plus. A CNA license is not required but helpful.
