Job Overview
We are seeking an Experienced Computer and Mobile Device Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of electronic devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with various operating systems and hardware components. If you are a problem-solver who can pivot from a MacBook screen replacement to a home network setup or a business onsite visit without missing a beat, we want to talk to you. The technician will provide technical support both in the field and in retail settings, ensuring customer satisfaction through expert service and repair.

Duties

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware issues on mobile devices (Android, iOS) and computers (Windows, macOS).
  • Perform repairs on computer hardware components and replacement of parts.
  • Conduct software troubleshooting to resolve operating system errors or conflicts.
  • Replace or upgrade device components such as screens, batteries, motherboards, and other internal parts.
  • Provide technical support to customers in retail or field service environments, explaining repair processes and solutions.
  • Test repaired devices to ensure proper functionality before returning them to customers.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of repairs performed and parts used for each device.
  • Stay updated on the latest technology trends related to mobile devices and computer hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert Diagnostics: Identify and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues for computers (PC/Mac), smartphones (iOS/Android), and tablets.
  • Precision Repairs: Perform hardware repairs, including component replacement, screen swaps, and battery changes, ensuring all work meets or exceeds OEM specifications.
  • Onsite Service: Travel to residential and business locations to provide technical support, hardware installation, and troubleshooting in the field.
  • Client Relations: Translate "tech-speak" into plain English for customers, providing clear repair estimates and exceptional service.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed logs of repairs, parts inventory, and customer interactions within our POS system.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven Store Experience: Minimum [Insert Number] years of experience working in a dedicated retail repair environment.
  • Technical Independence: Ability to manage the repair workflow from start to finish without constant supervision.
  • Mobile & Field Ready: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for onsite service calls.
  • Customer-First Mindset: Strong communication skills and a professional appearance, especially when working on a client's premises.
  • Tool Proficiency: Mastery of standard hand tools, heat guns, and diagnostic software.

Preferred Skills (Bonus Points)

  • Microsoldering: Experience with board-level repairs, FPC connectors, and soldering.
  • Advanced Networking: Experience setting up routers, mesh systems, or basic business networking.
