What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Food And Beverage position at Gecko Hospitality (Corporate)?
Director of Food and Beverage
Tampa, Florida
The Opportunity
This is a role for someone who likes to take ownership, not just manage what is already there.
We are representing a hotel with a solid foundation in place, but the food and beverage side has more potential than what is currently being executed. The expectation is not to maintain, it is to elevate.
The operation is lean, which is part of the appeal. There is room to shape it into something more defined, more consistent, and more relevant to both guests and the local market.
The Role
You will step in and get a clear read on the operation quickly, then start tightening things up where it matters. This includes service standards, team accountability, cost controls, and overall guest experience. The goal is not to overhaul everything, but to make smart, practical adjustments that drive better execution day to day.
You will oversee the restaurant, bar, and any F&B tied to meetings or events, working through your management team while staying connected to the floor.
The Leadership Piece
This role requires someone who can lead without overcomplicating things.
You should be able to build trust quickly, set clear expectations, and hold people accountable in a way that improves performance without creating unnecessary friction. The team does not need a complete reset, but it does need direction and consistency.
The Profile
The right background is someone who has led hotel or resort F&B operations and understands both the service side and the business side.
You are comfortable in the numbers and use them to make decisions, but you are just as comfortable stepping onto the floor when things get busy.
This is not a fit for someone who needs structure handed to them. It is a fit for someone who can walk in, assess, and execute.
Why It Is Worth a Conversation
There is a real opportunity here to turn the F&B program into something that contributes meaningfully to the property, both from a guest experience standpoint and financially.
Ownership is open to input, but they expect someone who can back up ideas with execution.
If you take pride in building teams, improving systems, and leaving an operation better than you found it, this is worth discussing.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
