YOUR TASKS
- Lead assigned projects by serving as technical and program deliverable responsible for product design and development from prototype to production
- Evaluate customer technical requirements and own technical response
- Ownership of program change control, product improvements, technical and cost
issues during the entire product development cycle - Represent GG at all technical and design review program meetings
- Manage DVP&R and DFMEA in collaboration with global teams
- Initiate and lead regional benchmarking activity
- Provide technical support and guidance to cross functional teams globally
- Direct management responsibility for Engineers/CAD Designers
- Drive cross functional teams to achieve all program milestones
- Encourage an innovative and creative work environment to solve problems
- Ensure compliance with assigned budget
- Interface with company management and escalate issues as appropriate
- Collaborate across departments globally to ensure compliance to core company
processes and methods - Provide supervision and ongoing feedback via recurring meetings, annual
performance reviews, etc. - Mentor less experienced engineers as needed
- Collaborate closely with sales team on technical business development
- Support all escalation meetings internal and external
- Travel to customer, supplier and GG facilities as needed
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical). Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred
- 7 years of experience in a product development function and relationships with automotive OEM customers
- 3 years management experience in Automotive Tier I supplier environment
- Excellent communications, organization and presentation skills
- Organizational development experience
- Experience in core processes: product development, project/cost management
- Patient and diplomatic with positive and optimistic attitude and keep a professional demeanor. Previous experience in multicultural work environment is a plus.
- Ability to multi task, prioritize and close actions items to meet internal and external deadlines
- Good working knowledge in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
