What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ski Tech position at Gear Garage CDA?
We are a local winter gear shop that sells new and used ski/snowboard equipment. We are looking for an experienced and passionate ski/snowboard tech to help manage our fleet and expand our service offerings. Previous Tech experience and Ski/Snowboard experience are required. We are open 7 days a week 10:00 AM to 6:00PM, so we need someone who is able to work weekends as they are the busiest days in the shop. This position is part time but has the possibility of becoming full time as the season gets busier. Pay starts at $17.00hr -$25.00hr based on experience but if you have a lot of tuning experience and preform well in the shop pay can be negotiated.
Key Accountabilities:
- Mounting, adjusting and tuning ski bindings
- Tuning Skis/Snowboards
- Greet each customer as they enter the shop area for assistance and thank them as they exit
- Teamwork oriented with the ability to work in a product learning environment
- Maintain high awareness of surroundings to provide safe and secure environment
Skills Summary:
- Enjoy connecting with customers and demonstrating an enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Ability to size customers for the correct gear
- Ability to operate POS system with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities and quickly learning new procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services, and apply training to ensure safety
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and bend repeatedly throughout shift
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the willingness to get the job at hand done.
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
