Key Responsibilities
- Manage medium to large teams, including senior professional direct reports, while providing mentorship and leadership to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Work closely with upper leadership and operations teams to identify, address, and resolve EHS issues, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead efforts to drive cultural change in a union environment, fostering a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Take ownership of several EHS Framework Elements, ensuring their effective implementation and integration into site operations.
- Develop, lead, and execute site-level risk reduction initiatives to mitigate hazards and improve overall safety performance.
- Ensure compliance of plant operations with regulatory requirements related to air, solid waste, chemicals, water, health, and safety.
- Maintain a deep understanding of site-level EHS requirements and ensure adherence to GE EHS Framework Elements.
- Apply skilled knowledge of OSHA regulations to ensure compliance and drive improvements in workplace safety.
- Manage EHS incidents effectively, including investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reporting.
- Embrace GE Aerospace lean system (FLIGHT DECK) to continue driving transformational improvements across EHS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years EHS experience)
- Minimum of 5 years EHS experience
- Experience managing OSHA 300 Log
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
- Previous experience in driving plant health and safety programs
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Proven ability to lead programs and projects.
- Established project management skills.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs effectively.
