In this role, you will drive process risk reduction (D/PFMEA), develop and protect intellectual property, and support business development through process capability insights and technical input to proposals. - Serve as a process specialist with the knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to product, material application, manufacturing, and design teams in your area of responsibility.
- Synthesize and clearly communicate results of research and development activities related to material and process development; prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
- Support business development activities as needed through process capability insights, risk assessments, and technical input to proposals.
- Prioritize and complete process engineering projects to achieve business objectives for product delivery, technology and process maturation, and process risk reduction (e.g., D/PFMEA).
- Develop subject‑matter expertise on process mechanisms (e.g., forming, curing, heat treatment, machining, inspection of CMCs) and apply that learning to solve problems and develop/protect intellectual property (IP).
- Define, validate, and document standard processes (work instructions, process control plans, control limits) to enable repeatable and capable production.
- Lead process qualification and scale‑up from lab and pilot lines to full‑rate production, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.
- Practice applied creativity to develop processes and approaches that meet customer and product requirements for CMC components in demanding environments.
- Maintain focus on practical application of processes to current and novel future program/product requirements, including design changes, new materials, and new manufacturing technologies.
- Partner with manufacturing engineering and operations to ensure processes are robust, safe, and producible, including troubleshooting process issues on the shop floor and driving continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing or related experience) Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or related experience.
