About the Role
We are seeking an F5 Support Engineer with strong experience across F5 APM, F5 ASM/Advanced WAF, and Microsoft identity platforms (including Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD). In this role, you will support secure application delivery, identity-based access, and enterprise web application protections. You will work closely with our Senior F5 Engineer to maintain and enhance F5 services that integrate with Microsoft identity, SSO, MFA, conditional access, federation, and Zero Trust access models. This position is ideal for someone who understands how F5 and Microsoft identity platforms work together to provide secure, seamless access to applications.
What You’ll Do
- Provide operational support for F5 BIG-IP, including APM, ASM/Advanced WAF, and LTM
- Support enterprise identity and access integrations between F5 APM and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Manage and update APM access policies, SSO configurations, authentication flows, and MFA integrations
- Assist in maintaining and tuning web application firewall (ASM/AWAF) policies
- Perform routine F5 changes: virtual servers, pool updates, certificates, health monitors
- Troubleshoot Tier 1–2 F5-, APM-, and identity-related access issues; escalate complex problems to the Senior F5 Engineer
- Monitor device health, traffic flows, web security events, and user authentication patterns
- Support conditional access, federation, and Zero Trust access models as implemented through F5 and Microsoft identity
- Participate in maintenance windows and change control for F5 and identity access updates
- Document configurations, access policies, authentication mappings, and operational procedures
What You Bring
- F5 Big-IP Support experience
- Hands-on experience with F5 APM
- Experience with F5 ASM/Advanced WAF for web application security
- Working knowledge of Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, including SSO, MFA, conditional access, and identity federation
- 2–4 years of experience in networking, security, or application delivery
- Understanding of authentication protocols: SAML, OAuth2/OIDC, Kerberos, or LDAP
- Strong foundational networking knowledge (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, VLANs)
- Experience with SSL/TLS certificates and secure application delivery concepts
- Ability to troubleshoot authentication flows, policy behavior, and application access issues
