The Safety Manager is responsible for promoting GDI’s Safety initiatives, goals, and objectives to ensure compliance with corporate, legal and client specific requirements.
Salary: $70,000 per year
Work Hours – Typically Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm but must have flexibility to work back shifts and shut down and weekends when necessary.

- Build and maintain relationships with customer contacts and onsite teammates.
- Accurately create safety, injury, and accident investigation reports
- Conduct staff safety training programs and teammate development; must possess strong presentation skills.
- Represent company in a positive and professional manner.
- Create and facilitate applicable training on all Safety, Health and Environmental subjects.
- Ensures compliance with company and customer safety manuals and policies.
- Majority of time spent in the field observing, coaching, auditing, and engaging teammates.
- Monitor Safety activities in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Accurately maintain all OSHA and company compliance records
- Other supervisory roles assigned by Site Management
- An Associate degree or certificate in environmental health, safety or business or related field
- 3-5 years of safety supervisory experience in Industrial or Manufacturing or food environments
- Proficient accreditation or experience to train and certify for LOTO, Confined Space, Aerial Lift, Fall Protection, etc.
- Must possess a minimum OSHA 30 Certificate
- Must possess effective communication skills, engaging hourly associates and customer upper management.
- Must posses the physical ability to walk long distances, climbing, stooping, and lifting?
- Must be a self-starter and perform with minimal supervision.
- Must have the flexibility to train and audit on back shifts and weekends.
- Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
- Must be proficient in Office 365, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
