Essential Functions
• Install, configure, and maintain physical devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Perform routine maintenance, including hardware health checks, ensuring optimal device performance. Replace outdated or faulty hardware as part of lifecycle management.
• Perform network cabling tasks, including patch panel and cable management in data centers. Ensure structured cabling is in place to provide redundancy and minimize points of failure. Label and document physical connections for future reference and troubleshooting.
• Ensure data center environmental controls (cooling, humidity, etc.) meet customer operational standards. Install analyzing devices to track environmental factors and ensure uptime. Regularly inspect racks and equipment for potential hazards (e.g., loose cables, improper airflow).
• Ensure that power redundancy is in place, including redundant power supplies for critical network devices. Regularly test power failover systems to confirm minimal disruption during outages. Analyze power usage and ensure the physical infrastructure is within the data center’s power capacity limits.
• Ensure network hardware complies with physical security policies (e.g., access control, locked cabinets). Assist in implementing physical security measures such as security cameras, biometric access control, and restricted access areas. Conduct routine checks to ensure hardware is secure and no unauthorized access has occurred.
• Implement backup devices and maintain redundancy (e.g., hot spares) for critical network equipment. Conduct regular testing of failover devices to ensure readiness in case of hardware failure.
• Assist the Government with inventory of all network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.). Track warranty and support information, ensuring timely renewals and replacements.
Qualifications:Education
• Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field Certifications
• Network or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required.
• ASWS Certified solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect or similar certifications desired.
Experience
• Minimum of two years of experience in network support and implementation.
• Proven experience in supporting systems across public, private, and hybrid environments.
• Strong understanding of network technologies
