I.T. Project Manager - Level 9


GCSAA is seeking an I.T. professional with a proven record of leading cross-functional initiatives that advance technology strategy by driving project delivery across infrastructure, applications and business systems to ensure projects are on time, within scope and aligned with organizational priorities. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT leadership and the technical team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and measurable results. Project Manager will plan, monitor and execute multiple IT projects concurrently within budget using Agile or hybrid methodologies ensuring stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle. Responsible for developing and maintaining vendor relationships that adhere to the organization’s timelines and standards. 

 

Qualified candidates possess:

·      Ability to manage complex IT projects through full lifecycle, from initiation to deployment

·      Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum or hybrid methodologies with the ability to tailor approaches to organizational context

·      Exceptional communication and facilitation skills between business and technical audiences

·      Strong influential leadership skills with demonstrated experience in driving accountability across teams

·      High attention to detail, organizational discipline and analytical rigor

·      Proficiency with project management tools such as Azure, DevOps, Jira, Monday.com or comparable systems

·      Solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, software development and service delivery frameworks

·      Ability to manage competing priorities with a focus on organizational goals

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience

·      Minimum five (5) years of related experience in IT project management or equivalent combination of education and experience

·      Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or certified ScrumMaster (CSM) valued, but not required

·      Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure Cloud) and familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks desired

·      Ability to travel to the annual GCSAA conference and trade show

·      Position must live within a commutable distance from our headquarters office in Lawrence, KS

Salary range is $83,000 - $93,000/annually. In addition to GCSAA’s attractive compensation/benefits package, we also provide generous paid leave, allow for community involvement opportunities, provide a hybrid (2 remote days/week) work schedule, enforce a year-round casual attire, staff fun events, and wellness incentives.
