What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Looker Administrator position at GCS?
We’re hiring a Senior Looker SME to support enterprise-scale analytics platforms. You’ll play a key role in platform stability, cloud migration (Google-hosted Looker), API-driven AI enablement, and building long-term internal capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3/L4 support for Looker (Dev & Prod)
- Lead upgrades, releases, and patching
- Manage LookML lifecycle & GitHub CI/CD workflows
- Troubleshoot performance, query, and modeling issues
- Implement user provisioning & Azure AD access control
- Develop governance frameworks & best practices
- Extend Looker APIs (Inline Queries, Admin APIs)
- Optimize performance, concurrency, and usage
- Support cloud migration & POCs
- Validate Teradata → Snowflake migration via Looker
Requirements
- 7 years in Analytics / BI Engineering
- 4 years of enterprise Looker experience
- Strong expertise in:
- LookML
- Looker Dev/Prod lifecycle
- GitHub CI/CD
- Looker APIs & SDKs
- Experience supporting 1000 users
- Strong IAM knowledge (Azure AD preferred)
