What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Planner position at GCC?
What You Will Do:
This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking daily maintenance activities and major repairs while ensuring all predictive, preventive, and standard operating procedures are documented and current. The position works closely with plant departments to prioritize maintenance schedules, manage work orders, investigate maintenance requests, and develop annual, monthly, weekly, and daily plans, including major outages and shutdowns. Responsibilities include identifying labor, parts, tools, and timelines; coordinating with procurement to ensure parts availability and inventory control; maintaining SAP PM work orders, preventive maintenance routines, and BOMs; consolidating repair details into SOPs; maintaining maintenance records and technical documentation; supporting budget preparation; leading planning meetings and weekly maintenance communications; overseeing contractors as needed; participating in on-call emergency response; and supporting continuous improvement initiatives and KPI tracking. Duties may change or be assigned as business needs evolve.
Experience and abilities you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering degree required.
- Must have 2 or more years’ experience working in an industrial environment.
- Must have a mechanical background with emphasis on planning.
- Experience in SAP or a similar platform
- Predictive and preventative maintenance
- Computer skills
- Communication skills
- Organizational skills & attention to detail
