What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Representative position at GCC Dacotah Inc?
What you will do:
Works in the field monitoring and testing product to ensure proper density requirements are met.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform density testing at multiple sites
- Complete and submit testing records manually and /or electronically according to company requirements.
- Communicate density testing results to lab according to established standards.
- Monitor jobs
- Perform duties as TXDOT certified Level 1B technician such as establishing and maintaining rolling patterns for the contractor, thermal and density segregation profiles, permeability, and coring.
- Safely and efficiently collect samples for testing aggregates, concrete, and asphalt materials.
- Perform sampling, testing, and reporting procedures according to established protocol, having the ability to test material samples and recording test results in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform calculations, provide documentation, and communicate data.
- Maintain a daily record of test results, prepare daily reports, and submit results to project lead technician or main lab supervisor. Advise supervisor of unusual test results or results that do not meet specifications.
- Ensure work performed meets department standards, participate in continuous improvement system, observe and promote best practices, good time management, and be able to troubleshoot/analyze root cause failure.
- Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environmental best practices.
- Verify outside construction materials testing laboratory results and maintain accurate, timely records of test data, product quality, and defective materials.
- Learn to use Lastrada as the main software for the lab on the aggregate/asphalt division.
Experience and abilities you will need:
Minimum 1 year experience with Asphalt field testing, required
Basic computer skills: Email, Excel, Word
Basic Math skills
TXDOT Level1B Certification
