Position Overview:
As a Chemist 1, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, including the operation of equipment like GCMS, LCMS/MS, HPLC, and ICPMS. You will maintain accurate records, participate in proficiency testing, and adhere to laboratory best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine laboratory testing and equipment checks.
- Participate in proficiency testing and maintain equipment logs.
- Intake, prepare, and test samples using various instruments.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to quality standards.
- Assist with sample accessioning, training of personnel, and other laboratory duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field, or 2 years applicable experience.
- Experience: 0-2 years laboratory experience. Familiarity with chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent judgment, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory testing methodologies and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
