Job Overview

The Regional Manager of Sushi plays a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence across a portfolio of franchise-operated prepared foods kiosks, primarily located in grocery stores and other host locations. This individual acts as the primary liaison between GBC Food Services and franchisees, ensuring performance standards, compliance, and brand integrity across all units in their designated region.

The role involves frequent travel, often on short notice, and requires the ability to adapt quickly to dynamic situations while delivering consistent support to franchise partners. The Regional Manager is responsible for guiding operations, fostering strong client/franchisee relationships, and supporting profitability and growth initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight to Franchise Partners and their teams within assigned region.
  • Coaches and mentors Field Trainers and Operations Specialists as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with food safety, brand standards, and operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational performance of multiple franchise locations, ensuring quality, consistency, and profitability.
  • Conduct regular on-site visits to support training, performance evaluations, and business development.
  • Monitor KPIs and financial performance of franchise units; recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Partner with franchisees to resolve operational challenges and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, HR) and franchise operations.
  • Enforce brand standards and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Lead regional meetings, participate in franchise onboarding, and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Develop action plans to drive same-store sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Support new location openings through launch planning, training, and go-live execution.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of regional market trends and competitor activity.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to influence and drive results through others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and a dynamic travel schedule.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and POS/operations management systems.
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality, Food Service Management, or a related field required.
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in multi-unit operations or franchise management, preferably in food service or hospitality.
  • Proven success in leading geographically dispersed teams and scaling operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel regionally 70% of the time; occasional travel outside of region as needed.
  • Availability to work through weekends or holidays (with compensatory off days thereafter)
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods during store visits.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Valid Driver's License required
