Summary
The position of Credit Analyst is responsible for performing certain job functions pertaining to the end-to-end process of a commercial loan request, as well as monitoring certain aspects of the commercial loan portfolio on an ongoing basis.

The position of Credit Analyst is responsible for performing certain job functions pertaining to the end-to-end process of a commercial loan request, as well as monitoring certain aspects of the commercial loan portfolio on an ongoing basis.
Essential Duties
- Underwrite credit applications for business clients, including applications for Commercial Real Estate, Ag Loans, C & I Loans, Lines of Credit, among other loan types.
- Run credit reports on current or prospective clients.
- Analyze business and individual’s financial statements, calculate cash flow and balance sheet ratios, determine appropriate risk grades, and recommend a credit decision.
- Work side by side with lenders to finalize loan pricing, credit structure, and other information or concerns, including participating in client calls and meetings.
- Assist in general portfolio management, including addressing delinquencies, matured loans, annual reviews, tracking of financial and covenant requirements, and other administrative items.
- Perform loan draws; test covenant calculations prior to certain draws (borrowing bases, liquidity requirements, etc.).
- Review loan documents for mortgage related loans.
- Perform appraisal and environmental reviews.
- Review commitment letters, term sheets, and denial letters.
- Answer the telephone; respond to routine loan officer or customer inquiries relative to account balances, loan balances and payoff requests.
- Employee will be cross-trained in other functions as determined by Management.

- Bachelor’s Degree, Finance or Accounting degree preferred; or related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) - Two (2) years of Commercial underwriting experience is preferred. Work related experience should consist of administrative duties with a financial institution background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
- Ability to read, understand, and analyze financial data, tax returns, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, both at a personal and corporate level.
- Advanced computer and typing skills.
- Skilled in Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel).
- Detail oriented and ability to carry out tasks at a high rate of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter; ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and handle last minute demands.
- Works well under pressure and deadlines.
- Shows willingness and adaptability to work outside normal schedule, on occasion.
