Construction Superintendent - Life Science
We are looking for a Traveling Construction Superintendent to support construction management for GBA Builders. This superintendent will have the full support of the project manager while exercising autonomy in day-to-day operations. Successful candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated and willing to jump in and assist where needed, adding value by offering thoughtful solutions and project efficiencies. Experience in the construction of Pharma / Biotech facilities is preferred. Also, interested in candidates with a background heavy in mechanical/piping.

Responsibilities
- Provide coordination and supervision of Pharma / Biotech renovations and building additions with large amounts of process piping, clean utilities, mechanical upgrades, and automation
- Collaboration with clients, design teams and subcontractors for project success
- Build/maintain jobsite culture of “Safety First”
- Quality Control/Quality Assurance
- Daily coordination and management of subcontractors and jobsite logistics
- Collect, review and submit shop drawings, product data, test reports, etc.
- Build/update construction schedule and ‘look ahead’ schedules
- Review estimates with operations team to ensure logistical/site considerations are included
- Review project budgets with project management weekly /monthly
- Complete daily/weekly reports and maintain photo journal of progress
- Travel to and from job sites as needed to support field operations.
- Operating a motor vehicle on behalf of the company as an essential function of the role.
- Degree in construction management or experience in the trades
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in construction management/supervision
- Good working knowledge of mechanical systems and process piping
- Partnership approach to working with contractors, designers and clients
- MS Office Suite knowledge and strong computer skills
- Proficient with scheduling software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team
- Self-motivation with good time management skills
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
