Summary:
Interns at GBA Companies gain hands-on experience in a collaborative work environment and have an opportunity to work side by side with industry experts. What Youll Do
As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, youll:
- Assist with preparing designs, analyses, calculations, and models related to fire protection systems, life safety systems, and passive fire protection building features.
- Assist with conducting project site visits to observe construction and witness system testing.
- Follow quality control processes and design standards.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined design teams.
- Engage in an active learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Pursuing BS or MS in Architectural Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or another related engineering degree from accredited program.
- 3.0 GPA or higher strongly preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office software is preferred
- Experience with architectural/architectural engineering projects or internships is preferred.
- Finished at least two years of school
- Involved in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/ or organization
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk around the office for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
