We're looking for a Survey Project Manager to join our Survey Group in our Lenexa or Southlake office. This role is ideal for a skilled survey professional who can lead and manage both field and office survey projects, ensuring quality performance and client satisfaction.
What You'll Do
As a Survey Project Manager, you'll:
- Manage and perform DOT land surveying projects (KDOT and MODOT experience preferred).
- Lead topographical, boundary, and ALTA/NSPS survey projects.
- Collaborate with field crews and office technicians to build a high-performing team.
- Prepare survey scopes and cost estimates.
- Perform and review project work in MicroStation.
- Review work completed by survey technicians.
- Prepare rights-of-way, easement, and dedication documents.
- Interpret engineering plans accurately.
- Maintain standards in survey notes, point descriptions, and calculations.
- Communicate directly with clients to ensure scope, deadlines, and expectations are met.
- Provide field documentation and direction to survey crews and CAD technicians.
- Maintain organized project files including notes, research, and survey documents.
- Support other departments to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Manage project schedules and deliverables.
- Ensure QA/QC processes are completed before client deliverables are submitted.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Associate's degree and 5-10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PLS License preferred.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Experience managing survey projects and producing final deliverables in MicroStation.
- Strong client management and staff coordination skills.
- Proficiency in boundary determinations, legal descriptions, geodetic and plane survey calculations.
- Experience with GPS, Terrestrial LiDAR, and conventional field equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
