Responsibilities
- Conduct tissue culture and mammalian cell culture experiments, ensuring optimal growth conditions and contamination prevention
- Perform protein purification, Western blotting, ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, chromatography, and other assays to analyze biological samples
- Utilize microscopy techniques for cellular imaging and analysis, maintaining high standards of image quality and documentation
- Transfect cells using various transfection methods to study gene expression and function
- Review experimental documentation meticulously to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Support clinical trials by monitoring patient samples, assisting with sample collection, and maintaining detailed records in accordance with ICH GCP standards
- Analyze data using statistical software such as R, SAS, or Python; generate reports that clearly communicate findings for publication or presentation purposes
Experience
- Previous research laboratory experience in molecular biology, cell culture, or related fields is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with tissue culture techniques and mammalian cell transfection methods
- Familiarity with protein analysis techniques including Western blotting and chromatography
- Knowledge of clinical research procedures, patient monitoring protocols, and regulatory compliance (FDA regulations, HIPAA)
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as R, Python, or SAS for statistical computing and visualization
- Understanding of animal physiology and the ethical considerations involved in animal research is a plus
- Certification in ICH GCP (Good Clinical Practice) from a recognized issuer for California or other jurisdictions is desirable
