Assists therapists with implementation of the Cognitive and Aphasia Day Treatment programs and provides levels of support services as needed for the daily operations of these programs.1. Assists with the provision of direct patient care.Assists with the provision of direct patient care during all group therapy sessions as directed by the licensed therapist.Utilizes appropriate safety techniques regarding self and patientTakes cultural diversity and population specific issues into consideration and utilizes this knowledge appropriately in the delivery of patient careAssists with patient’s understanding of daily schedules and transition from groups to individual therapies.Assists with care coordination for all day treatment patients/ collaborates with outpatient care manager2. Provides Non-Direct patient careProvides clerical duties of the program including copying and filing of materials for groups.Always helps maintain a clean treatment area and work environment, including organization of day treatment room. Provides appropriate telephone coverage and clerical support as neededHelps with supply inventory and retrieval of equipment/supplies when needed3. Interacts appropriately through clinical communicationCommunicates clearly and timely with other departmental personnelCommunicates professionally with other hospital personnelKeeps supervisor informed of clinical issues, problems or concerns related to job role, and any other issues related to job performanceAttends TTC meetings to share pertinent patient information to interdisciplinary team.Contacts patient’s family members via phone as directed by licensed therapist.4.
