Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure that all fabricated parts meet strict quality standards and specifications. Duties
- Set up and operate various types of press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to produce precise parts
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other tools to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met throughout the fabrication process
- Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) press brake machines for complex bending operations, optimizing machine parameters for efficiency and accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of press brake equipment to maintain optimal performance
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, welding, and other machining processes
- Conduct quality inspections on finished parts using hand tools, gauges, and inspection equipment to ensure conformity with specifications before assembly or shipment
Skills
- Proficiency in operating press brake machinery with a strong understanding of mechanical principles and safety protocols
- Experience with CNC programming for press brakes or related machinery such as CNC laser cutters or CNC milling machines
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, required tooling, and fabrication techniques for sheet metal components
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other tools for quality inspection
- Familiarity with material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes for moving heavy sheets or fabricated parts safely
- Basic math and measuring skills necessary for calculating dimensions, angles, tolerances, and material requirements
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting equipment
- Knowledgeable in welding techniques and assembly processes relevant to sheet metal fabrication projects
- Understanding of manufacturing safety standards and best practices in a production environment
