Seeking a skilled optician to join our team. Looking for someone positive, upbeat, motivated, and hard working to work in our office long term. Position requires cross training for the front office. New team member must be able to multitask and keep organized in a fast paced medical office. Proven work experience as an optician, receptionist, front office representative or similar role. Must have proficiency in adjustments, measurements, pricing, insurance benefits, navigating computers, emails, google docs, and willingness to learn new software. Needs to be highly motivated and show excitement about our products and services by providing the right solutions for our patients' lifestyles. Duties:
Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products
Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit
Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists
Adjust frames and lenses to ensure comfort and optimal vision for customers
Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire eyewear selection process
Utilize retail math skills to calculate costs, discounts, and insurance coverage for customers
Stay up to date on lens materials, coatings, frame styles, and industry trends to educate customers and provide top-tier product recommendations
Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with the team to ensure patient satisfaction
Skills:
Proficiency in using optical laboratory equipment for frame adjustments and repairs
Excellent retail sales skills with the ability to sell products and services
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers and team members
Ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and a positive attitude
Willing to obtain an optical certification (ABOC, CPO) within one year of employment
Proficiency in Google Docs and general office equipment
Ability to occasionally lift 25-40 pounds occasionally
