Project Manager
Job Description:
A project manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects within an organization, from the initial ideation through to completion. They coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives. This person is highly proficient in organizational standards, inventory management, scheduling, planning and customer service. This person must have great communication skills to ensure all departments from installers to accounting are staying on task with each project. This role also serves as a key point of contact for clients and plays an active role in warehouse organization and material management.
Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for the management of multiple small-scale to large-scale projects for current and/or future installations as assigned.
- Oversee project progression from inception to completion including design, permits, material delivery, labor planning, field installation, etc.
- Schedule and coordinate installation crews, ensuring efficient sequencing of jobs, proper crew assignments, and timely completion of all installs.
- Take and manage inbound client calls, addressing project inquiries, scheduling questions, and concerns in a professional and timely manner, ensuring a high standard of customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure proper documentation throughout the project's lifecycle including permits, change orders, final closeout requirements, etc.
- Effectively communicate project progress, issues, and financial status of projects to the Operations Manager.
- Recognize and assist with Change Order research and development. Provide in-house estimating and proposals as needed.
- Proactive in recognizing and managing risks and actively participate in creative solutions.
- Ensure the safety protocols are being implemented and in compliance with State, Local and Federal requirements.
- Understand the project scope and complete jobs within budget.
- Review and update job status and cost to completion.
- Participate in meetings with contracts administration, field supervision and purchasing departments to review all on-going projects.
- Assist with the project schedule to properly complete all phases of work.
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of the warehouse, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are properly stored, labeled, and inventoried at all times.
- Receive and verify incoming shipments, confirming accuracy against purchase orders, logging deliveries, and coordinating with the purchasing department to resolve any discrepancies.
- Understand and follow all adopted codes and standards to ensure work is performed in compliance with all State, Local and Federal legal requirements.
- Follow industry standard project management procedures and processes.
Required Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in the custom glass and hardware installation industry, with demonstrated knowledge of glass products, hardware systems, and installation practices.
- 2 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or management role.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Vocational/Technical degree in aligned area of study. The ideal individual must be technically inclined, have good written and verbal communication skills, energetic, self-motivated, dependable to work under little or no supervision and demonstrate job stability and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certifications.
- Project Management Certification.
- Prior experience directly managing a team of hourly employees.
- Experience with an online customer management system.
- Knowledge of project management, resource allocation, installer utilization and cost control.
- Possess an understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these to cost containment in managing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct weekly meetings and report on project activity.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
