What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Care Attendant position at Gateways Community Services?
The Part Time Personal Care Attendent will provide hands on care to participants enrolled in our Medical Adult Day Center from 10-2 Monday through Friday in person. Personal Care Supports include food preparation, assistance with tolieting and transfering, assisting to implement activities, and engaging with aging particpants in the program including those who have memory impairments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Hands on personal care for toileting and incontinence and other needs to support participants
- Hands on support for lifting and transfering participants as needed
- Food preparation in alignment with regulatory standards
- Engaging participants in meaningful social and recreation activites and encounters
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hands on incontinence and toileting and other person care as needed
- Hands on lift and transfering of participants
- Supporting participants with memory challenges to engage in programming.
- Working in a team environment
- Person Centered Approach
- Constant supervision of individuals in the program
- Documentation as needed
- Sanitation of materials and the site as needed
- Follow all regulatory process and procedures for care
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- 1-3 years of direct personal care experience.
- Memory care experience preferred
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to support transfers of clients safely
Physical Requirements/Work environment
- Occasional standing
- Frequent sitting, minimum of 5 hours per day
- Occasional walking, bending, and twisting of spine
- Light lifting and carrying, less than 30 lbs.
- Visual acuity-worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform job functions

Pay: $19.00 - $19.19 per hour
