GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provide instruction and accountability for students at Gateway Woods School, supervise students in the vocational/community service program, and work with other staff and volunteers to promote the educational, vocational, and independent living skills development of each child.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan instruction that furthers the school’s mission and philosophy of education.
- Plan instruction that reflects a solid understanding of content and students.
- Plan instruction with appropriate design elements.
- Assure that students are properly supervised.
- Establish a classroom environment that is conducive to student learning.
- Effectively manage classroom environment and student behavior.
- Deliver instruction that is clear, engaging, and appropriate for students.
- Assess student learning and provide timely and responsive feedback to students.
- Instruct the whole child in areas as needed (spiritually, emotionally, physically, etc.).
- Establish and maintain current records for each student.
- Actively participate within the Treatment Team
- Seek and participate in opportunities for professional growth and development
- Participate in the Gateway Woods summer program as directed by the Director of Education.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- All applicants must have a Christian belief and demonstrated lifestyle, along with the support of his or her local elder or pastor.
- Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education.
- Must have, or be in the process of obtaining, an education teaching license from a state or accreditation agency.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Possess good communication skills, teamwork skills, self-motivation and flexibility.
- Have a sincere interest in and understanding of the needs of our children, including the emotional, physical, and educational needs.
- Have a dedication and love for young people.
