GATEWAY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT CLASSIFIED VACANCY: **Current Gateway Staff will have first rights to these positions** Custodian - Extra Duty/Summer Recess Work (8.00 hrs/day) Shift Schedule: M-F: 7:00am-3:30pm (1/2 hour unpaid lunch break) Anticipated Assignment Dates: June 8, 2026 - August 7, 2026 SALARY: $19.00 - $27.47 - Pursuant to article 16.9 of the CSEA Bargaining Unit Agreement Summer Recess Assignment Summer recess custodial assignments will support district-wide facilities preparation for the 2026–27 school year, including activities associated with the District’s school reconfiguration. In addition to standard summer deep cleaning duties, assigned employees will assist with classroom and office moves, furniture relocation, equipment transfer, and room set-up across district sites as directed. Work locations and assignments may vary based on operational need. Physical Requirements This assignment requires the ability to: Lift, carry, push, and/or pull furniture, equipment, and materials (up to 50 pounds without assistance; heavier items with assistance or equipment) Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb Stand and walk for extended periods of time Operate custodial equipment and moving tools safely Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES Possession of a valid California driver’s license and proof of insurability may be required if operating a District vehicle as part of assigned duties.
