Gateway to Innovation Student Work-Study Program: Makerspace Project Assistant

End Date: June 30, 2027
Student will work alongside G2i teachers and staff to support the development of early makerspace and project-based learning systems.
This position will serve as our Makerspace project assistant. Job responsibilities will include setting up the building, organizing and labeling supplies, moving and arranging materials, filing, copying, preparing student materials, preparing project kits, supporting inventory, and assembling equipment/furniture and assisting staff with preparation and implementation of student experiences. This job will also include opportunities to support elementary and middle school student experiences in the makerspace area as directed by the Ignite Teacher Team.
An ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, organized, and have a desire to learn a wide range of makerspace technology. Anyone interested in working in technology, innovation, education, or hands-on job opportunities would be a great fit for this job! This position will provide students with authentic workplace experience in communication, organization, teamwork, problem-solving, customer service, technology support, project preparation, and hands-on building setup.
Budget/Hours per day/week:
Hourly rate: $9.00 per hour. Hours may vary based on school needs and student availability, with students working up to 8 hours per day as allowed by the SWS program.
