Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as you will interact with clients during deliveries. This position is to deliver tires from our warehouse in Moody, Alabama to our many customers all in Alabama and Georgia. Must pass a drug screening and background check.
Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling of items to prevent damage.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks for moving heavy items as needed.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients at delivery locations.
- Communicate effectively with the warehouse team regarding inventory and delivery schedules.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
- Familiar with tires and driving a box truck.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in route driving or commercial driving is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the day.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Experience in warehouse operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with using GPS devices and mapping software for route navigation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screening as required by company policy.
- Can pass and obtain a medical DOT card required by department of transportation.
