Position Title: PRE-OP/PACU RN, Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY:

The RN has the responsibility to plan, direct organize, coordinate and implement all nursing care services for the pre and post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care. The RN ensures the highest quality and safest delivery of patient care while maintaining compliance with professional nursing, and all Federal and State standards of care.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility:
Current state R.N. license (MO)
BCLS required/ACLS preferred.
Nursing: 1 year of clinical experience required/2 years preferred
(with an emphasis in PACU, surgery, ICU or ER preferred)
Eligibility: All employees must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability: IV skills preferred
Interpersonal: Actively participates in the development of a healthy work environment. Uses interpersonal skills to establish and maintain healthy interpersonal relations which include functional trust, positive feedback, and constructive criticism. Good communication skills: oral and written.
Critical Thinking: Ability to make sound nursing judgement based on nursing theory. Demonstrates primary nurse accountability through coordination, communication, and continuity of patient care. Must be able to utilize the nursing process and assess, prioritize, plan and implement patient care in an effective manner. Assumes responsibility for competency of practice and takes initiative for professional development and continuing education.
Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience in PACU from hospital or ambulatory surgery center including direct patient care (preferred).
MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDES: Computer, telephone and fax. Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment and point of care testing.
