Gateway Rehab has an opportunity for a Therapist who will be responsible for providing drug and alcohol treatment services, case management, and crisis intervention for our Moffett House patients.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates group and individual therapy.
- Provides psychoeducation to patients and lectures to patient community.
- Conducts family therapy sessions.
- Contacts parties involved in patients’ treatment to gather collateral information and documents in patient charts.
- Completes biopsychosocial, assessments, evaluative summaries, and mental status exams.
- Develops clinical needs lists, treatment plans, and treatment plan updates.
- Documents individual and group sessions and all other case management activities in patient chart.
- Initiates case consults as appropriate and documents in patient charts.
- Plans for continuing care of patients and makes appropriate referrals.
- Facilitates continued stay process through contact with funding sources.
- Develops behavioral contracts appropriate for population treated.
- Lectures to patients.
- Conducts suicide assessments when necessary and intervenes appropriately.
- Intervenes appropriately in crisis situations.
- Conducts pre-admission interviews as appropriate.
- Conducts searches and urine screens as necessary.
- Transports patients as necessary.
- Participates in weekend pager schedule.

- Knowledge of age-specific growth and development.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of the 12 Step Recovery Programs
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Degree must be in a field that meets Pennsylvania State Department of Health staffing qualification regulations.
- Pennsylvania Certified Addictions Counselor certification is required in addition to a degree if the degree held does not meet Department of Health staffing qualification regulations.
- Experience in a mental health or drug and alcohol professional setting.
If not licensed at the time of hire, the therapist will work towards obtaining licensure/certification as required by DDAP/pertinent licensing bodies within prescribed timeframes.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree.
- Knowledge of Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health
Additional Requirements:
- Pass PA Criminal Background Check
- PA Childline (child abuse) and FBI Clearance
- Pass Drug Screen
- TB Test
