VIP Program Instructional AssistantGateway High SchoolGateway Regional is seeking a caring individual to provide one-on-one support to a high school student with disabilities. The Ideal candidate will be patient, thoughtful, and caring and be able to set limits appropriately. In addition, the ideal candidate will: Collaborate with special education staff and classroom teachersSupport the student in navigating the school environment safely (hallways, cafeteria, transitions).Assist with organization of materials, technology, and workspace to ensure accessibility.Assist with adapting instructional materials and other accommodations recommended by the Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and related service providers.Willingness to learn and support the use of assistive technology such as screen readers, magnification tools, or braille devices under the guidance of the TVI.Provide social, emotional, and academic supportAbility to take feedback and instruction from teacher and therapistsParticipate in team meetings or checkins as needed.Professionalism around confidentialitySalary range: $17.97-$28.75, dependent upon education, experience, and placementExperience working with students with braille and assistive technology needs is not required but helpful.
