Overview:This role is seeking a Senior Import Analyst to support our West Coast–aligned supply chain and manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on U.S. Customs compliance, HTS classification, First-Sale, tariff strategy, and FTA qualification.Ideally, this analyst will be based near one of these West Coast locations:California: Santa Clara, Fremont, Sunnyvale, Sunnyvale, Santa Rosa, San Jose, Murrieta, Monrovia, Milmont, Richmond, Tustin, Fremont Oregon: Eugene, WilsonvilleColorado: Longmont (Mountain region but aligned operationally with West Coast)Primary Responsibilities:Perform accurate HTS classifications for components, optics, photonics systems, and finished goodsValidate country-of-origin, valuation, and duty calculations for importsSupport First-Sale for Export implementation and documentationAnalyze tariff impacts and identify duty-savings opportunitiesManage and validate FTA supplier qualificationsAudit Customs entries and ensure broker accuracy and PGA complianceConduct restricted-party screenings for import transactionsMaintain accurate classification, COO, and trade data in internal systemsPartner with West Coast engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and logistics teams to gather technical detailsSupport continuous improvement of import compliance processes, SOPs, and workflowsRespond to internal stakeholder inquiries related to U.S. import requirementsStay current on CBP regulatory changes, tariff updates, and evolving compliance expectationsAdditional Responsibilities (Senior-Level):Lead complex HTS classification and valuation projects involving photonics, lasers, semiconductor materials, and advanced technologiesDevelop and support tariff-mitigation strategies and landed-cost modelingServe as a subject-matter expert on U.S. Customs requirementsSupport internal and external audits, risk assessments, and corrective actionsMentor junior analysts and strengthen West Coast import compliance practicesQualifications:4–7 years of experience in import compliance, U.S. Customs operations, or trade complianceHands-on experience with HTS classification, valuation, First-Sale, Customs regulations, and FTA programsDemonstrated ability to lead classification, valuation, tariff mitigation, and supplier-origin initiativesAbility to advise stakeholders and manage cross-functional import compliance projectsU.S. Customs Broker License strongly preferredExperience in photonics, lasers, semiconductors, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing preferredExperience with SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, Descartes, or similar trade systemsBachelor's degree in international business, supply chain, engineering, law, or related field
Salary : $187,500 - $188,800
