Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and restocking supplies
- Support patient service activities, including answering questions and providing medication information
- Maintain compliance with Board of Pharmacy record keeping requirements
- Document all medication transactions accurately in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and safety
- Support hospital or LTC pharmacy operations by managing medication distribution and record keeping
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and scheduling of controlled substances
- Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and communication
- Familiarity with acute care environments, long-term care environments and pharmacy operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
