What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Class A or Class B driver position at Gateway Inc?
We are seeking a local class A or B Dump Truck Driver to join our team
Your job is to carry construction materials while being careful and safety-minded. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the operational aspects of operating trucks and driving safely to ensure product arrives quickly and safely. You will have excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. The ability to think on your feet is important as your decisions may impact revenue. Ideally, you will have experience driving trucks and a high degree of knowledge to handle various types of loads.
Responsibilities:
- Drive large commercial trucks to haul construction materials from construction site.
- Plan the journey according to the weather and traffic conditions.
- Keep truck driving logs in accordance with safety requirements.
- Make repairs to vehicle and replace parts as needed with parts of adequate quality.
- Report vehicle malfunctions, damages, accidents etc. to supervisors or superiors.
- Identify safety hazards on route and take necessary precautions.
- Take directions from dispatchers.
