Position SummaryGateway Energy is seeking an experienced Natural Gas High‑Pressure Meter and Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) Technician to support measurement accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational reliability across our Waxahachie/Red Oak high‑pressure pipeline assets. This role is responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting high‑pressure gas measurement systems (up to 1480 PSI) and associated electronic flow equipment used for custody transfer.
Key Responsibilities- EFM Installation, Calibration & Programming
- Install, configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot EFM computers, transmitters, and communication hardware.
- High‑Pressure Measurement Systems
- Maintain, repair, and install high‑pressure meters, regulators, relief valves, and associated instrumentation.
- Measurement Accuracy & Sampling
- Collect gas and liquid samples, verify gas quality, and ensure accuracy of custody‑transfer data for contractual, financial, and Railroad Commission compliance.
- Field Operations & Autonomy
- Perform field diagnostics, respond to callouts, and operate independently across remote locations within the asset area.
- Regulatory & Documentation Compliance
- Maintain accurate records, calibration logs, and measurement reports in accordance with Gateway Energy standards and PHMSA/RRC requirements.
- SCADA & Communications Support
- Interface with SCADA systems, communication networks, and data acquisition platforms to ensure reliable data flow.
- 3–5 years of experience in natural gas measurement, EFM systems, or high‑pressure field operations.
- Strong working knowledge of pressure systems, electronics, gas measurement fundamentals, and custody‑transfer standards.
- Proficiency with:
- EFM programming software
- SCADA systems
- Communication equipment (radios, cellular, telemetry)
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, meter schematics, alignment sheets, and technical documentation.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Must reside within 10 miles of the Waxahachie/Red Oak assets to meet emergency response requirements.
- Experience with:
- Orifice, Coriolis, turbine, and ultrasonic meters
- Pressure transducers and transmitters
- Gas chromatographs
- Relief valve maintenance
- Familiarity with Railroad Commission regulations and PHMSA 49 CFR 192.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Regular travel within the asset area; on‑call rotation required.
