About GateWay

GateWay Delivery is a locally built, multi-industry delivery company serving Knoxville and surrounding areas.

Unlike traditional food-delivery platforms, GateWay may provide delivery services for restaurants, florists, retailers, specialty businesses, business-to-business clients, and other local partners.

What You’ll Do

Drivers may be responsible for:

• Picking up and delivering local customer orders
• Verifying order information before leaving pickup locations
• Safely transporting food, floral products, retail goods, packages, and other approved items
• Using insulated bags, carts, or other required delivery equipment
• Following customer and merchant delivery instructions
• Communicating promptly about delays or problems
• Confirming successful delivery
• Providing professional service to merchants and customers

Previous delivery experience is helpful, but reliability, judgment, communication, and professionalism matter just as much.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable vehicle
• Current vehicle registration
• Current automobile insurance meeting applicable requirements
• Reliable smartphone with data service
• GPS/navigation capability
• Ability to safely handle customer orders
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Professional communication skills

Required driver and vehicle documentation must be verified before activation.

Flexible Scheduling

GateWay is designed to offer drivers flexibility.

Depending on available delivery volume, drivers may be able to work around:

• Another job
• School
• Family responsibilities
• Entrepreneurship
• Other commitments

Daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend opportunities may be available.

However:

Flexible does not mean unreliable.

When you accept a delivery assignment or scheduled responsibility, a business and customer are depending on you.

Compensation

Drivers may earn through:

• Delivery compensation
• Customer tips
• Applicable incentives
• Referral opportunities
• Additional approved earning opportunities

Drivers keep 100% of tips designated for them.

Actual earnings vary based on delivery volume, availability, route type, tips, and other factors.

Drivers are generally responsible for their own fuel, vehicle expenses, and routine maintenance.

Applicants should be prepared to answer:

• Do you currently have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current registration, and active automobile insurance?
• What areas of Knoxville and the surrounding region are you most comfortable driving?
• Approximately how many hours per week would you ideally like to drive?
• What days and times are you generally available?
• Describe any previous delivery, courier, logistics, restaurant, retail, hospitality, or customer-service experience.
• You realize you will be approximately 15 minutes late for a scheduled pickup. What would you do?
• A merchant hands you an order, but something appears to be missing. What would you do before leaving?
• Are you comfortable using GPS, mobile applications, insulated bags, carts, and other required delivery equipment?
• Why are you interested in driving for a locally operated delivery company?
• What does professionalism mean to you when representing another company in front of its customers?
• Tell us about a time something went wrong while you were working independently. How did you handle it?
• A customer is frustrated about a problem that was not caused by you personally. How would you handle the interaction?
