Summary/Objective
The KCC JobSight Career Advisor is responsible for recruitment, counseling/career guidance, job search, resume
writing, ethics training, providing case management of eligible job seekers and screening clients for the potential
need to train.
Essential Functions

● Answers phone
● Assists with resume writing, filling out applications for services
● Helps promote services as needed
● Maintaining KEE Suite and documents for clients
● Prepare and maintain a Business Listing database and Partnership Agreements
● Other duties as needed to perform day-to-day office functions
● Assists job seekers with resume writing, completing applications for services (job search or training)
● Helps with Job Fairs (Planning and Hosting)
● Assists clients with data entry into Focus and KEE Suite systems
● Coordinates supportive services needs as necessary
● Hot Jobs job postings
● Submits accurate and prompt timesheets and reports
● Creates and distributes public relations material through flyers and media
● Conduct assessments
● Ability to work alone and in a team setting
● Understands the roles of community partners and how to refer when necessary
● Assist with Interagency, Chamber, Extension, High Schools, etc. as needed
● Attend local events to set up display and promote services
● Other duties as needed to perform day to day office functions
● Must possess a valid Kentucky Driver’s License with ability to drive an 11 passenger van
● Must be able to attend events and speak in public to promote services
● Works well with businesses to assist with needs and refer clients to obtain an interview

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such
as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. Required to spend numerous hours outside of the office in
various settings such as outdoor areas, schools, adult education centers, unemployment offices, various businesses,
etc.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger,
handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or
crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities
required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the
ability to adjust focus. Extended periods of time sitting in front of computer, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate
computer keyboard, bending at the wrist, kneeling or reaching to retrieve and file records, some climbing, prolonged
periods.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time temporary position with possibility of ongoing employment if the opportunity is available. The
position is 40 hours per week, Normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area may be expected as well as some
overnight travel for training purposes.

Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience in workforce development is a plus.

Additional Requirements
Valid Kentucky driver’s license, reliable transportation, satisfactory criminal background and a satisfactory physical
examination. Pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug testing as required. State required minimum vehicle liability insurance and uninsured motorist insurance. Any/all other testing or applicable checks required by local, state, or federal law.
