Gateway Aluminum is excited to announce the start-up of our new aluminum rolling manufacturing facility located in St. Louis, Missouri. A new chapter has begun at 6100 S. Broadway. The Leadership team at Gateway Aluminum is diligently making plans to welcome fresh faces and new products to our manufacturing facility in the coming weeks. We are seeking a Plant Controller who is self-directed and initiative-taking, with a strong financial background in manufacturing operations finance. The Plant Controller is a key leader and provides proactive financial guidance to the Plant leadership team. This position is a strategic partner to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Corporate CFO. The qualified candidate will oversee all financial accounting activities using corporate guidelines with financial reporting, budget and forecasting, financial analysis, accounting, and control for the Gateway Aluminum plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures strict adherence to Gateway Aluminum Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, P/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for site
- Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions
- Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the Plant
- Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant and/or corporate objectives
- Integrates and trains new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team
- Shares best practices, e.g., process improvements, financial modeling, and procedures changes
- Provides proactive/unsolicited consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
- Collaborates with senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis
- Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks
- Ensures proper accounting in accordance with Accounting Principles and Procedures as well as local statutory requirements
- Estimate production costs to support quoting activities
Experience/Skills/Specific Knowledge/Education:
- At least 5 years’ proven work experience as a Financial Controller in a manufacturing environment, preferably metals.
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Ability to quantify and monitor cost reduction projects for achievement of financial objectives including participating in plant specific continuous improvement events.
- Plant Spend Analysis
- Cost accounting experience
- Demonstrated expertise in MS Office and IQMS MRP System
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management, public groups, peers, and staff.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA is a plus
