Lower School Teacher 2026-2027 School Year

Gateway Academy – Brentwood, TN (Maryland Farms)

Gateway Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lower School Teacher (Elementary Teacher) to join our team. This is an in-person position located in the Maryland Farms area of Brentwood, TN.

We are currently looking to hire someone to begin immediately through the end of the current semester (May 20th), with the potential to continue into the Fall 2026 semester. There is also an opportunity to continue into summer teaching for candidates who are interested.

Position Details:
Start Date: Immediate / TBD
End Date: May 23, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate:$22–$24/hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach core elementary subjects (reading, writing, math, science, social studies) in a small, individualized learning environment
• Differentiate instruction to meet the unique needs of each student
• Support students with study skills, organizational strategies, and academic confidence
• Communicate regularly with Gateway Academy staff and parents regarding student progress
• Maintain a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (required)
• Prior classroom teaching experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Must be reliable, punctual, and professional
• This is an in-person role; remote work is not available
• All applicants are subject to a background check and drug screening
