The Operations Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production in alignment with company objectives. This role manages frontline supervisors and operational teams, enforces safety and environmental standards, and drives continuous improvement across the site.
Lead and manage production teams to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets for tonnage, grade, and quality.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards at all times.
Supervise shift supervisors, equipment operators, and support staff across mining, hauling, and auxiliary services.
Coordinate short-term and long-term mine plans with planning, geology, and maintenance departments.
Monitor key operational metrics (KPIs), analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the team.
Participate in budgeting and cost control by managing labor, equipment usage, and consumables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated leadership in team management, production planning, and performance improvement.
- Strong knowledge of mining equipment, production processes, and safety standards
- 5 years in a similar role
- English; Spanish bilingual proficiency is a plus
