Gates Milling is currently seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our team as Mill Laborers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the lumber industry. No previous sawmill experience is required – we provide on-the-job training for individuals who are eager to learn and committed to working safely.

As a Mill Laborer, you will play an important role in supporting our daily sawmill operations by assisting with production, handling lumber and materials, maintaining a clean work environment, and contributing to a safe and efficient workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assist with daily sawmill operations and lumber production.

· Stack, sort, and move lumber and wood products.

· Operate basic tools and equipment as trained.

· Load, unload, and organize materials.

· Maintain a clean and safe work area.

· Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

· Work with team members to meet daily production goals.

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

· No prior experience required – training is provided.

· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

· Reliable attendance and punctuality.

· Ability to work well in a team environment.

· Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying up to and over 50lbs.

· Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to machinery, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions.
