Role Description Gate Tech Pros is seeking an experienced Gate Technician to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain automated gate systems, access control equipment, and perimeter security solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and HOA properties throughout Texas.
This position is ideal for a dependable, mechanically inclined technician with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience working with gate operators, access controls, and low-voltage systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of gate operator and access control experience
- Experience troubleshooting automated gate systems
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors in Texas weather
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
- Basic welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Low-voltage wiring experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Install and service automatic swing and slide gate operators
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and access control issues
- Install and troubleshoot photo eyes, loops, keypads, intercoms, and card readers
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Read wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Complete service documentation and communicate with customers professionally
- Ensure all systems comply with UL325 safety standards
- Coordinate with office staff and project managers on scheduling and materials
Preferred Experience
Experience with brands such as: LiftMaster, HySecurity, Master Pro, DoorKing, Nice, Cellgate
