GAT Systems is looking to add a new member to the team! Our company has been a B2B partner in the Custom Finishing industry for over 60 years. Our current openings are for an entry-level and experienced MIG Welder/Fitter in our plant. The individual will support various departments by interpreting mechanical blueprints, determining appropriate tools and metals, using cutting tools, and assembling metal pieces. The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail, excellent math skills, and be self-motivated and collaborative!

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for:
- Join appropriate metals to specifications.
- Prepare metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assembly.
- Interpret specifications and blueprints accurately.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Regular cleaning and inspecting welding equipment and tools.
- Operate cranes and other machinery to transport materials to welding worksites.
- Work with various power tools.
- Determining machine settings.
- Diagnosing issues and troubleshooting as required.
- Communicate with the plant manager or supervisor, report any issues, and make suggestions for improvement.
- Must have experience with mild steel and stainless steel welding techniques
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years of welding experience is preferred.
- Must be able to pass a Fillet Welds- (1F) test (entry-level)
- Must be able to pass an all-position test ( experienced level)
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required. Will train.
- Excellent stamina, strength, and dexterity.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
- A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
