We are a busy Gastroenterology office with 33 Providers. We are looking for a team-oriented individual to provide great customer service to our patients! This individual should show great attention to detail and a passion for healthcare.
We are currently expanding our Practice by adding additional providers and several more procedure rooms! We are looking to bring on additional team members to help accommodate for the increased number of patients we will be seeing.
Great position for students taking a "gap year" between undergrad and nursing school, medical school, etc. Provides wonderful experience in a medical setting!
JOB TITLE: ENDOSCOPY TECHNICIAN
JOB SUMMARY:
The Endoscopy Technician is a health team member specifically involved with the instrumentation and technical aspects of the endoscopy event. Functions cooperatively with the physician and staff, exhibiting teamwork characteristics in the decision-making process. Explain each procedure. Trained to function in a complementary role to the nurse in providing direct patient care as directed by the licensed nurse. May perform the procedure follow-up calls to patients.
JOB DUTIES:
- Collects, reports, and documents simple nursing tasks or skills under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Assists with the transfer of patients.
- Selects equipment and supplies for procedures.
- Prepares supplies for sterilization.
- Autoclaves items.
- Disinfects instruments and endoscopes.
- Assists with specimen collection for lab.
- Operates and troubleshoots endoscopy equipment.
- Provides a clean procedure room.
- Unpacks and restocks supplies.
- Maintains and operates equipment.
- Performs other related duties.
