What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant position at Gastroenterology & Hepatology of CNY?
We are a busy gastroenterology office seeking dedicated and motivated Certified Medical Assistants to join our team. Candidates must be reliable, punctual, and a team player. Strong computer skills and proficiency in office software is a must. Travel to each of our two locations is required.
This role is essential to providing excellent patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Hours:
Monday - Friday
8:00 am - 4:30 pm
We are closed on weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Gather medical and surgical history from patients
- Update electronical medical records accurately and efficiently
- Answer phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquires
- Process electronic faxes and manage incoming documentation
- Adherence to privacy and HIPAA regulations to protect confidentiality and sensitive information.
Qualifications:
- Must be dependable and committed to providing high-quality patient care
- Prior experience in a medical office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel to both office locations (Liverpool, East Syracuse)
- Must work effectively as part of a team
- Must be able to take a manual blood pressure
